Finding of a Metal Container in Antarctic Snow

The cold storage of products was organized on glacier in the area of ​​Russian Antarctic Station Progress, East Antarctica. It was made on the base of the metal container with the sizes 3x6x2.5m and digged in snow on the depth of 3m (frm the roof to the surface). Its position was marked by the surface landmarks. The configuration of the aerodrome changes every year and landmarks were lost in several years, container position as well. The Zond-12e GPR with 900A shielded antenna were used to find this container. The grid with 2m shift was applied.
